At 1 p.m. today, Emory University will close because of the weather conditions and snow.

Gary Hauk, vice president and deputy to the president of Emory University, said that Emory Healthcare and Dobbs University Center will stay open. Libraries will close so that the staff can avoid dangerous conditions later in the day, Hauk said.

Hauk said that Emory Dining is looking into staff availability for other cafeteria locations. The hours will be posted on the Emory Dining website.

Hauk said that his office will know by 5:30 a.m. tomorrow morning about whether or not they will shut down the University tomorrow.

Atlanta weather is currently about 28 degrees.

The Emory Wheel was founded in 1919 and is currently the only independent, student-run newspaper of Emory University. The Wheel publishes weekly on Wednesdays during the academic year, except during University holidays and scheduled publication intermissions.

The Wheel is financially and editorially independent from the University. All of its content is generated by the Wheel’s more than 100 student staff members and contributing writers, and its printing costs are covered by profits from self-generated advertising sales.
