Emory Police Department (EPD) served six criminal trespass warnings to non-Emory University affiliated individuals on Sunday for suspected involvement in “criminal activity” on campus last night, Assistant Vice President of University Communications wrote in an email to The Emory Wheel.
“On Saturday, a group of individuals disrupted peaceful protests and vandalized several campus structures, including spray-painting hateful messages on Convocation Hall,” Diamond wrote.
EPD also detained an individual on the Quadrangle at approximately 3:50 p.m. today. An open expression observer said that this individual was not an Emory student.
The individuals were all escorted off campus property.
EPD and other law enforcement agencies are continuing to investigate the incident and further charges may be pending, according to Diamond.
Sunday’s actions come after protestors who did not appear to be affiliated with Emory spray-painted messages such as “LAND BACK,” “FUK USA” and “DEATH TO [ISRAEL]” on Convocation Hall.
