In light of the upcoming presidential election, a new organization called Emory Votes has formed on campus with the intention of helping Emory students register to vote. Emory Votes has a table near the Green Bean coffee cart next to Cannon Chapel where the members of the group provide students with all the forms necessary to register to vote and for an absentee ballot, if necessary. The process is simple and all the necessary forms have been organized to make the process even more convenient for college students that find it difficult to register on their own.

As Americans, voting is our civic duty – one that is often taken too lightly. We would like to commend Emory Votes for their efforts in helping students register to vote and encourage all members of the Emory community to take advantage of this convenient and immensely important service.

The Emory Wheel was founded in 1919 and is currently the only independent, student-run newspaper of Emory University. The Wheel publishes weekly on Wednesdays during the academic year, except during University holidays and scheduled publication intermissions.

The Wheel is financially and editorially independent from the University. All of its content is generated by the Wheel’s more than 100 student staff members and contributing writers, and its printing costs are covered by profits from self-generated advertising sales.
