Emory Healthcare has confirmed the first death of a COVID-19 patient in a March 18 statement to the Wheel.
The statement, from Director of Emory Healthcare Media Relations Janet Christenbury, did not provide information about the patient or which hospital the patient was being treated at, citing federal privacy regulations.
Emory Healthcare on March 10 admitted its first patient with COVID-19, the Wheel previously reported. It is unknown at this time the number of patients with COVID-19 being treated at Emory Healthcare facilities.
