Friends,

Take a moment to look around our beautiful campus. What do you see? What do you feel? I see a second home. I feel a deep connection and love for my university. Sadly, I am aware that many students do not have this same sense of school spirit or pride, so my mission as your next SPC vice president is simple: change that. I want to create a community – a true community – within Emory. I believe that one of the best ways to do this is by increasing the number and range of events we have as well as diversifying the location of these events so that every corner of our campuses, from Oxford to the Law School, is utilized. I have already started this work in my three years of SPC experience and as current Special Events chair and SPC Beyond chair, and I will wholeheartedly continue and strengthen this effort as your SPC VP!

The Emory Wheel was founded in 1919 and is currently the only independent, student-run newspaper of Emory University. The Wheel publishes weekly on Wednesdays during the academic year, except during University holidays and scheduled publication intermissions.

The Wheel is financially and editorially independent from the University. All of its content is generated by the Wheel’s more than 100 student staff members and contributing writers, and its printing costs are covered by profits from self-generated advertising sales.
