Two Emory Students Being Tested for Coronavirus

Two Emory students living in undergraduate housing are being tested for possible novel coronavirus, according to a campus-wide email to all Emory students.

Neither case has been confirmed and the students are in self-isolation in University-provided, off-campus housing. One student lives in Dobbs Hall and the other resides in Clairmont campus. Their roommates have been notified and are “being supported by student health services staff.” EmoryEnvironmentalHealth and Safety personnel cleaned and disinfected the rooms.

The email states that the University will notify the Emory community if one or both of the students test positive for the virus. The email also advises that students who develop a fever or cough isolate themselves from others and contact Student Health Services.

Student Health Services did not respond to the Wheel’s request regarding its capability to test for coronavirus by publication time.
