Madi Olivier (she/her) (25C) is from Highland Village, Texas, and is majoring in psychology and minoring in rhetoric, writing and information design. Outside of the Wheel, she is involved in psychology research, the Emory Brain Exercise Initiative and the Trevor Project. In her free time, you can find her trying not to fall while bouldering and obsessively listening to Hozier with her cat.

Clement Lee (he/him) (24Ox) is from Virginia Beach, Va., majoring in finance and information systems and operations management. Outside of the Wheel, he is the chief operating officer of Project V Solutions Consulting and works with various environmentally conscious companies. In his free time, Lee enjoys going on long runs, reading Marcel Proust’s “In Search of Lost Time” and playing the clarinet.

Ellie Fivas (she/her) (24Ox) is from Cleveland, Tenn., and is majoring in political science and history on the pre-law track. She manages the Wheel’s opinion section and the Editorial Board. When she is not writing for her political column Electoral Ellie, she works in prison education, leads a human rights club and works at the Emory Writing Center. In her free time, you can find her reading trashy romances and The New York Times, basking on the Quadrangle and doing crossword puzzles.

Madeline Shapiro (she/her) (26C) is from Stamford, Conn., majoring in creative writing and classic civilizations. She manages the Wheel’s sports and multimedia sections. Outside of the Wheel, Shapiro can be found playing low-stakes games of soccer, spending time outdoors and watching as many Premier League games as possible.

Alex Gerson (he/him) (27C) is from Bethesda, Md., and plans on majoring in film and media with a concentration in film and media management. Outside of the Wheel, he hosts a weekly radio show called “Discography Discoveries” on WMRE Radio. He is a die-hard Washington Nationals fan and watches “Curb Your Enthusiasm” religiously.

Safa Wahidi (she/her) (26C) is from Sugar Hill, Ga., and is double-majoring in political science and English and creative writing. At the Wheel, she is an opinion section editor and pop culture enthusiast. In her free time, Wahidi enjoys writing fiction, watching rom-coms and anticipating the next Taylor Swift album. You can find her working at the Emory University Bookstore or exploring Atlanta restaurants.

Outside of the Wheel, McGuire is the social justice coordinator for Young Democrats of Emory, an intern with the local Georgia government and a nanny for three sweet boys. Lauren Yee (she/her) (25Ox) is a news editor at The Emory Wheel. She is from Hong Kong and is majoring in religion. Outside of the Wheel, Yee serves on the boards of the Phi Gamma Literary Society and the Oxford Ensemble of Shakespearean Artists. In her free time, you can find her playing the saxophone, watching musicals or enjoying an iced oat milk latte!

Jack Rutherford (27C) is a news editor at The Emory Wheel. He is from Louisville, Ky., majoring in economics on the pre-law track. When not writing for the Wheel, he can normally be found with Emory Crew or at a Schwartz Center performance. In his free time, Rutherford enjoys listening to classical music or opera and walking in Lullwater.

Outside of the Wheel, Natalie is a member of Emory’s Varsity Cross Country and Track & Field teams. In her free time you can find her taking and editing photos, thrifting new clothes and at a new concert each week.

Emma Kingwell (she/her) (26C) is from West Hartford, Conn., majoring in chemistry on the pre-med track. Kingwell does research in the Tirouvanziam Lab at the Emory School of Medicine and the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, is a first-year liaison for the Emory Undergraduate Medical Review and is an emergency medical technician. She enjoys long-distance running, reading fantasy novels and studying foreign languages. You can find Kingwell rewatching Studio Ghibli movies and looking for new coffee recommendations.

Esther Fu (she/her) (27C) is planning to double-major in neuroscience and behavioral biology and computer science. She is originally from Hong Kong but lived in Cambridge, Mass., for around seven years. Outside of the Wheel, she is a coxswain and the secretary of Emory Crew and a scientific editor for the undergraduate neuroscience journal, Grey Matters. She is also an undergraduate researcher at the ViTAL lab in the bioinformatics department at the Emory School of Medicine, which strives to use artificial intelligence to improve healthcare systems.

Alyza Harris (she/her) (24Ox) lives in Miami but is originally from Long Island, N.Y. She is studying economics and plans to pursue a minor in Spanish. Outside of the Wheel, Harris is a second-year senator and chair of the Transportation & Technology Committee of the Oxford Student Government Association. She is also a member of the Peer Review Board. In her free time, she loves to discover new music, try out new recipes and quiz herself on geography.

Amelia Dasari (she/her) (26C) is a premedical student from Sharon, Mass., majoring in neuroscience and behavioral biology and minoring in artificial intelligence. Outside of the Wheel, Dasari is involved in autism research, Emory University Symphony Orchestra, Emory Undergraduate Medical Review and Best Buddies.
